Description
ORIGINAL! ONE OF A KIND! SIGNED, CERAMIC, BAKED ENAMEL TILE FEATURING NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN MESAS. ABOUT 18" X 14" FRAMED. HAS A HORIZONTAL DIVIDE RUNNING THROUGH THE MIDDLE. I WOULDN'T CALL IT A CRACK BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THAT THE ARTIST FIRED IT AS IS, THE GLAZE RUNS INTO THE DIVIDE. VERY UNIQUE! ETCHED/SIGNED ON THE BOTTOM LEFT, C.T.CABALLERO, FRSA. SUPER RARE! HAS A TYPED PAGE ON THE BACK BY THE ARTIST, VERY FADED, BUT YOU CAN MAKE OUT THAT HE/SHE IS TALKING ABOUT THE BAKED ENAMEL PROCESS. THE FRAMING, TYPING AND OVERALL LOOK OF THE PIECE LEADS ME TO BELIEVE IT IS FROM ABOUT THE 1940s??? PAPER IS TORN ON BACK, HANGER IS NOT ORIGINAL, FRAME HAS SOME SCRATCHES BUT IT ONLY SHOWS ITS AGE. GREAT PIECE!
